Behavioral Building Blocks

Specializing in Positive Behavioral Support Interventions for Children with Developmental and Behavioral Disabilities

Who Do We Provide Treatment To?

We provide treatment to any child with any disability regardless of age or label.  If your child has no label, that is no problem.  We treat your child's behavioral and skill deficits.  Our programs are developed specifically to meet your child's needs based on their symptoms, not their diagnosis.  We come to you in your enviroment, where the behaivor is occurring.  We provide Functional Behavior Assessment for each client and evaluate their current skill level to develop appropriate treatment.

Should you consider Behavior Intervention for your child?

Where are the answers?

You have a child with a disability.  The doctors have told you your child is delayed in speech, social skills, self-help skills, or maybe they said your child has cognitive delays or mental retardation.

Who do you turn to for help?

You ask the school.  They give some services (speech therapy, occupational therapy, music therapy, physical therapy, etc.).  It just seems like your child needs more.  Each day passes and you see little progress.  Now you see your child is frustrated.  They might be acting out or reverting in.

How do you deal with behavior?

Your child is acting out with tantrums, self-injury, noncompliance, defiance, aggression, self-stimulation, and/or sensitivity to certain things in the environment.  What has been tried so far just has not made an impact.

At Behavioral Building Blocks we can help.  We can help your child communicate better, learn real-life skills, play, tolerate changing environments, and even improve their relationships with peers and adults.

If you are looking for a treatment that is comprehensive, goal oriented, and family focused, Behavioral Building Blocks can develop a plan that is right for you.  And we will be there with the support that you need to implement it.

Who can benefit from Behavior Intervention?

Most people who have children who are young with language and social delays or behavior problems have considered Behavior Intervention.  However, many people do not realize that with the right plan, children who have only social skills deficits, or those who are only mildly affected with language delays can benefit.  Plans can be developed using the child’s natural environment, parent or teacher run strategies, and minimally invasive reinforcement procedures that can have a major impact on a child’s skill development and ultimately their academic performance and social relationships.

If you are looking to teach your child new skills, improve their learning potential, solve behavior problems, or just assess whether your current plan is as effective as it could be, we can help.  Whether you have just started thinking about your child’s deficits or if you have tried many interventions and still haven’t seen the results you have hoped for, we can help.  We accept children of any age, disability, and developmental level.

Together we can help your child build a foundation to promote life long learning.  We can help your child learn skills to help them improve communication, social interaction, and everyday living skills that will enhance your child's independence and self-esteem.
