Many children, youth, and young adults have inappropriate behaviors that stem from their disability. These behaviors may make it difficult for them to learn and negatively impacts their life.
In order to assist children, youth and young adults with problem behaviors Behavioral Building Blocks conducts a comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA).
A FBA determines the possible reason a person is engaging in a problem behavior by carefully observing and/or identifying events that occur before and after a person exhibits a problem behavior. If we learn when and where problem behaviors are likely to occur, we can create a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) that outlines positive strategies to help decrease problem behaviors and teach alternative behaviors.
